A One Minute Video = 1.8 Million Words

If a picture tells a thousand words… how many words does a video tell?

According to Forrester Research, the value of a one-minute video is worth the equivalent of 1.8 million words!

Let’s put that into perspective, shall we?

If you do the math, 1.8 million words are about the same as 3,600 standard pages of web copy. How long would it take to actually write that many words? Well, if you started tomorrow and wrote a page of text every hour… you’d finish writing 3,600 web pages in 150 days. I guess you’d better get cracking if you want to achieve 1.8 million words by Christmas.

I’m exhausted just thinking about it! The impact of a one-minute video gives you FAR more bang for your buck. By the time you add up the amount of time and energy you’ve put into writing 1.8 million words, a video doesn’t seem so impractical after all. Does it?

A video might just be the MOST practical marketing tactic on the table.

An animated video combines images, a script, sound and interactive tools that a few thousand web pages of content simply cannot replicate. And let’s face it. Who has the time to read 3,600 pages on your website to figure out whether or not to call you?

In this digital age, where you’ve often only got one minute or less of a person’s attention…make sure you are using your time wisely.
